Why was $1 deducted from my account?
When you create an account on subtypestore.com and save your payment details, an authorisation charge of $0 or $1 will be charged. This is a common practice by banking gateways to verify cards. Please know that this charge will be automatically voided.
For most financial institutions, a $0 authorisation will first be tried. If this authorisation is not supported, a $1 authorisation will automatically be performed.
In any instance where a $1 authorization returns a successful result, our payment gateway immediately follow-ups with an automatic void request to cancel the transaction. This is to ensure the transaction does not settle and that it disappears from your statement as soon as possible.
If you find that the charge does not void, please contact your financial institution.
PayPal Free Returns
If you paid with PayPal, you can get a refund on your return shipping costs if you need to send something back - up to $45 per return and 8 returns each year.
How to get your money back on return shipping
- Login to your PayPal account and activate "Refunded Returns".
- Submit a request with your proof of purchase within 30 days of return and 150 days of purchase.
- Once approved, your refund will appear in your PayPal account, typically within 5 business days.
What's not included?
- Any items that haven't been paid for in full with your PayPal account.
- Any products excluded from our Returns Policy.

Gift Card - Terms & Conditions
Gift Cards are valid for 3 years from the issue date, or until no amount remains on the Gift Card. Any balance that remains on the Gift Card after expiry will not be available for use.
Gift Cards cannot be exchanged (wholly or partly) for cash, reloaded, topped up or used to purchase other gift cards.
The value shown on a Gift Card includes GST.
Gift Cards are partially redeemable, and any unused balance can be used for future purchases up to the expiry date.
Gift Cards should be treated like cash. Lost or stolen gift cards will not be replaced or refunded.
Items purchased using Gift Cards that are subject to our returns or refunds policy will be refunded as a store credit. We reserve the right to issue you with a new Gift Card equivalent to the value of your refunded Gift Card purchase.
Should we suspect any fraud relating to a Gift Card, we may refuse to redeem the Gift Card until we are satisfied that no fraud has occurred.
We reserve the right to change these conditions at any time and will provide at least 14 days’ notice by posting the changes on this website. Afterpay is a simple instalment plan, allowing you to pay for your order in four equal instalments, due every fortnight.
Simply choose Afterpay as your payment method at checkout. First-time customers provide payment details, as usual, returning customers simply log in to make their purchase. It’s that easy!
At any time, you can log in to your Afterpay account to see your payment schedule and make a payment before the due date. Otherwise, Afterpay will automatically deduct the instalments from your debit or credit card every fortnight.

Am I eligible for Afterpay?
Afterpay is available to all people who:
- Live in Australia and are at least 18 years old;
- Are capable of entering into a legally binding contract
- Have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile number
- Use an Australian credit or debit card to make the purchase. You are not required to fill out a credit application form.
You do not need to register prior to making your first Afterpay purchase.
When you are making a purchase, simply choose Afterpay as your payment method at checkout. If it’s your first time using Afterpay, you will provide payment details as usual to complete your purchase. Once your first order is approved, your Afterpay account is created.
All you need to do is visit Afterpay to set up a password, and you will be able to make more purchases using Afterpay by simply entering your log in details upon checkout.

Do you accept PayPal?
We currently accept PayPal as one of our payment methods.
Upon checking out, you can select PayPal as the payment method. You will be redirected to PayPal to complete your purchase when you place your order.
You will receive two emails. One from PayPal to confirm that your payment was successful and a separate order confirmation from SUBTYPE.
How do I use Afterpay in-store?
Prior to heading in-store, we would recommend downloading the official Afterpay App. Available on iOS and Android.
Search for SUBTYPE in the search box. Select the amount of your purchase and follow the prompts to generate your in-store Afterpay barcode. Head in-store, grab your size and our team will assist from there.
HOW LONG IS THE BARCODE VALID FOR?
Your barcode will be valid for 12 hours and is applicable for single use only.
HOW MUCH CAN I SPEND IN A SINGLE TRANSACTION?
The maximum transaction value in-store is $800.00.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO MAKE MY FIRST PAYMENT?
The first installment will be debited once your barcode has been scanned.

When your refund is processed in store, AfterPay will send you an email and make the necessary adjustments to your payment schedule. For example, if you've made two repayments you will be refunded for those two payments and all further payments will be cancelled. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate exchanges, but you are welcome to repurchase on a new barcode.
Can I use my gift card online?
SUBTYPE gift cards can be purchased in-store and are redeemable at any SUBTYPE retail store in Australia or online.
